Garden on 4/17/04

Crocuses are gone, but daffodils are out, and the hyacinths are emitting their beautiful scent near our front door (too bad we never use that door!).  Trees are finally start to leaf out a bit, and daylilies and irises are emerging at long last.

Planting my first roses today!  Distant Drums, Carefree Beauty, Florence Delattre, and Cecile Brunner are going in the ground.  Tomorrow I put together, and fill, my composter.

Still have that collapsed grape arbor and the overgrown grape vines, but I got a flier this week from a high school kid willing to do yard work.  Need to call him...
